The International WELL Building Institute Joins CREtech Climate as Industry Partner
The global authority on healthy buildings joins the leading consortium of real estate thought leaders advocating for climate tech.
New York, NY (May 6, 2021) — CREtech Climate, a platform devoted to educating and inspiring investment in climate tech, sustainability and ESG throughout the Built World, is proud to announce the addition of the International WELL Building Institute™ （IWBI™）as an Industry Partner. As part of this engagement with CREtech Climate, Jessica Rose Cooper, Chief Commercial Officer at IWBI™, will serve on the prestigious CREtech Climate Leadership Board, adding a critical voice to drive the environment, social and governance agenda, and advance climate health by focusing on human health and well-being in our buildings, organizations and communities.
“As part of CREtech Climate’s mission to decarbonize the real estate industry, and as a result, create healthier living and working environments, we need the industry’s leading organizations and thought-leaders to help educate and inform the sector on best practices to implement these strategies,“ stated Michael Beckerman, CEO, CREtech Climate. “The addition of IWBI to our new platform is a major win for us in this regard. The team at IWBI continues to be on the forefront of the sustainability, health and ESG movements,” Beckerman added.
“We’re thrilled to be part of CREtech Climate and lend our voice and our expertise to this collaborative effort to advance planetary health and human health, which we know are inextricably linked. Creating smarter, restorative and resilient buildings and communities will ensure we are working concurrently and ambitiously to optimize for health and well-being, while also mitigating climate change,” said Jessica Cooper, Chief Commercial Officer at IWBI. “Health promotion practices at the building, community and organizational scale will be increasingly important as climate change elevates numerous threats to human health. We are delighted to be able to help inform the industry that people’s health and climate health are both integral pieces in the big picture of sustainability,” added Cooper.
IWBI will be joining the British Property Federation, Building Transparency, Carbon Leadership Forum, Climate Futures, GRESB, MIT Center for Real Estate, NewCities, PropTech for Good, The Clean Fight, and the Urban Land Institute as Industry Partners to assist with CREtech Climate’s mission to create a more sustainable Built World.
